Description
Sikkim is an Indian state in the north-eastern part of the country. This Himalayan state borders Chinese Tibet in the north, Nepal in the west, the Indian state of West Bengal in the south and Bhutan in the east. It is one of the smallest states in India and has an estimated population of nearly 6,90,000. Tourism is the main industry in the state. In fact, the annual tourist inflow in the state normally exceeds the population of the state. World-wide known for Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world at 8586m, Sikkim, the mountain state bears a vast and vibrant variety of plants and wildlife, with a diverse ethnic mix of people with rich cultural heritage. Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is one of the most popular hill stations in India, which boasts of amazingly appealing natural beauty, sacred Buddhist monasteries, crystalline glacial lakes, dense forests and spectacular views of the Himalayan mountains. Nestled at the foothills of Kanchenjunga, Pelling draws tourists with glinting lakes, gushing waterfalls, lush green forests and expansive snow-capped Himalayas.
Darjeeling is a town and district in West Bengal, one of the eastern states of India. Darjeeling is one of the most beautiful hill stations in India. The place is famous for torrents flowing down from mountain-slopes, breathtaking sights of snow-capped Kanchenjunga, salubrious weather, captivating tea gardens, fir-pine-fern filled landscapes, amazingly nice natural habitats of various animals, friendly natives comprising Nepalis, Tibetans and Lepchas  and yesteryear's colonial semblance.
