This morning after Breakfast, visit Alchi (3500 m/11500 ft.), a small village in the Indus Valley, that is situated 67 kms, west of Leh. Believed as the very first Buddhist temple in Leh-Ladakh, the Gompa or Monastery is known as Choskor or Sacred Enclave, comprising Five Temples. Enroute, get a view of the Sangam, a confluence of two rivers, i.e. Indus and Zanskar. Also, have a view of the Magnetic Hill, a gravity hill located near Leh. The hill offers a place where the layout of the surrounding land produces an optical illusion, making a slight downhill slope appear to be an uphill slope. Then, visit Military Hall Of Fame, a glorious museum constructed By the Indian Army. Run by the Indian Army, this museum/war memorial houses weapons, history exhibits and a souvenir shop. You can see weapons here used during the Kargil War, You will also visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a magnificent Gurudwara, about 40 kms away from Leh, on the Leh-Kargil road, built in the memory of Guru Nanak, Rest of the day should be spent in leisure. Morning drive of 125 kms to Nubra Valley, crossing Khardungla Pass at 18,360 ft,, world's the highest motorable pass. In afternoon, visit Diskit and Hunder Monasteries! On the way, have a good view of 100 ft. tall Maîtreya Buddha Statue! You'll also visit the Silvery Sand Dunes on perhaps a double-humped Camel Safari. This morning after Breakfast, visit Turtuk! On the way, visit Diskit Monastery as well! Turtuk is the last village on the Indian side of the border and was taken over by the Indian Army during the Kargil War. In the morning after Breakfast, drive to Pangong. Visit beautiful Pangong Lake, world's highest saltwater lake, situated at a height of almost 4,350 m. The lake forms a part of the border area between India and China. Its water seems to be coloured in blue, dissimilar to the arid mountains surrounding it. This morning after Breakfast, proceed to visit Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist white-domed Stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district. The stupa was built in 1991 by a Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura to promote world peace. This large hilltop stupa has brightly coloured relics on its mid-levels. (Smoking is prohibited here). Lastly, visit Leh Palace, dilapidated yet captivating architecture, which was built in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture.
