Today get ready for a full-day trip starting from Shey Palace, the 15th century summer palace and monastery of Leh's Royal family! Next you go to Thiksey Gompa, which is located on top of a hill in Thiksey approximately 19 kms east of Leh. Apart from being the largest monastery in central Ladakh, it is popular for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, The monastery is also famous for its 49 ft. tall statue of Maitreya Buddha in the lotus position. The statue was built to commemorate the 14th Dalai Lama's visit to Thiksey Monastery in the year 1970. Later, visit Hemis Monastery hidden in a gorge, the largest and wealthiest gompa in Ladakh. Then, visit Stok Palace Museum! In the evening, enjoy a panoramic view of Leh town from Shanti Stupa! The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight Stay in Leh

This morning after Breakfast, visit Alchi, (3500 m/11,500 ft.) a small village in the Indus Valley, 69 kms west of Leh! Alchi Choskor Monastery is known to be one of the most ancient Buddhist Monasteries of the north India.. En-route, view the majestic Sangam, the confluence of Zanskar and Indus rivers. Also, see the majestic Magnetic Hill, a gravity hill located near Leh! The layout of the area and surrounding slopes create the optical illusion of a hill.. Then, visit Military Hall of Fame, a glorious museum constructed by the Indian Army! Run by the Indian Army, this museum/war memorial houses weapons, history exhibits & a souvenir shop. You should also visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a magnificent Gurudwara constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak. Stop over at Likir Monastery, situated at an elevation of 3,700 m and is approximately 52 kms west of Leh. The main attraction of the monastery is the 75 ft. high statue of Maitreya Buddha gilded in gold. Return to Leh in the evening! The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight Stay in Leh

In the morning, drive to Nubra Valley for 125 kms, crossing Khardungla Pass, world's highest motor-able pass. On the way, visit Hunder Monastery! You'll also visit the silvery sand-dunes on perhaps a Double-humped Camel. Overnight in Camp in Nubra Valley

Check-out from the camp at Nubra after Breakfast and transfer to Leh! En-route visit Diskit Monastery, along with the Maîtreya Buddha Statue, the 108-ft. tall statue of Maitreya Buddha, located just below the monastery!. In the morning after Breakfast, drive to Pangong! Visit beautiful Pangong Lake which forms a part of the border area between India and China. This large lake is situated at an altitude of 14,000 ft. above the sea-level and has blue water in complete contrast to the arid mountains surrounding it. Before reaching Pangong Lake, you will pass through Chang La, a mountain pass, perched at a height of 17,590 ft. above sea level.
